Individual Volunteers
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us.
Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank relies on the generosity of thousands of individuals who donate their time and effort to help feed the hungry in Northwest Ohio.
Individual volunteers work together to sort and/or pack produce, nonperishable foods, and household items, preparing them for distribution. Duties may include checking for expiration dates, opened packages and spoilage, labeling cans, packing bags of food and household items.
Please note: All minors (17 years old or younger) must be accompanied by an adult (18 years old or older). Both youth volunteers and adult chaperones are required to complete the online registration to participate as volunteers.

In order to serve with us, you must be at least 18 years old and your charge cannot be related to any sexual offenses, violence, weapons possession, or any form of theft.
The Food Bank requires that all volunteers disclose the reason for service and, if their service is court-mandated, provide documentation demonstrating the terms of their service. Court-mandated individuals may not complete service hours until this documentation is received in advance. If at any time it is found that documentation is found to be fraudulent, we will not provide any documentation of any hours served.
The Food Bank will not accept volunteers who have been convicted of violent crimes, crimes of a sexual nature, theft, burglary, drug sales, or identity theft crimes.
The Food Bank reserves the right to decline any volunteer or to limit which days or hours a volunteer can work.
Volunteers fulfilling court-mandated community service and WEP hours must report by 8:00am. (If you arrive late you will not be permitted to volunteer on that day.)
There is a 4-hour minimum (8:00am – 12:00pm) for all volunteers fulfilling court-mandated community service and WEP hours.
It is not the responsibility of the Food Bank to accommodate court-mandated community service volunteers who wait until the last minute to fulfill their obligation. No exceptions will be made to this policy.
Our general individual volunteer shifts do not count towards court ordered or WEP service hours.
